2009 Wrangler 42RLE auto shift issues after lightning strike

The symptoms you're experiencing with the harsh 1st to 2nd shift could be related to the internal components of the transmission, especially given the history with the electrical issues stemming from the lightning strike. The P0868 code indicates low transmission fluid pressure, which can lead...

    Hate Dealers

Damn, that's rough! I've bought RVs before but only used ones so no warranty obviously. Like you, I've just gotten in the habit of doing my own repairs. These days it's really damn hard to find good techs and I don't trust anyone working on my vehicles other than myself. Sure, there's certain...

    Hate Dealers

Teslas way of doing it is IMHO the right way. I agree with everything you said. We live in an age where I can buy anything online. Why can't I buy a car online and have it delivered to me (I can with Tesla)? Why do I have to go down to a dealership and sit in some sleazeballs office while he...

    Hate Dealers

I hope every dealer goes out of business. There's nothing worse than dealing with car dealerships. It's an old, antiquated, and outdated model that desperately needs to change.

Pros and cons of going with a newer JLU diesels

New diesels are absolutely awful. Emissions in this country killed the diesel. They have nothing but problems and you'll realize that the longer you own it.

New to the Jeep world and need advice

If they are leaking or riding poorly, then I would replace them. Shocks are subjective though, they really are. If you want a softer ride go with a shock like the Rancho RS5000X. If you want a firmer / sportier ride go with something like the Fox or Bilsteins.

Changing JK fuel injectors to JL fuel injectors

More holes in the injectors doesn't mean anything unless you're building race engines. Waste of time, waste of money. You're drinking the Kool-Aid.

I don't think the 3.6 sounds very aggressive is the problem ;) That's subjective obviously, but whenever I hear them with exhausts they don't sound very good.

X2 to this. All of what you're after is a waste of money. A CAI and a catback will provide little to no horsepower gain (negligible at best) and the only reason you need new shocks is if you plan on lifting it, at which point I would then ask you how much of a lift, what size tires, and what do...

New Wrangler Owner Needs Help With Codes

For your first question regarding the catalytic converters, the 2010 Wrangler typically has two catalytic converters, one on each side after the manifold. It's possible that some replacement systems you found offer additional configurations, but yours should be set up as you described. Since...

    Factory Moab Wheel Question

Yes, you can run 285/75R17s on a stock JK, but expect possible light rubbing at full steering lock and especially when flexing off-road. F Ideally you'll want a 2" lift, but they will work!

    TPMS troubleshooting dead end

Why? You need the government required nanny aid for what purpose? Just delete the damn system and be happier because of it. You'll save yourself a lot of money on new TPMS sensors when you get new tires too. There's every reason to delete it and no reason to keep it.
