Just a follow up on this. I ended up changing the lower intake gasket and the water pump (since I had to drain it). I also replaced upper intake gaskets and the thermostat since I was in there. It's all back together and running great. Overheating is gone. I don't know what made it leak at...

Never mind, I figured it out. It goes to the intake pipe I haven't put on yet. LOL ----Jer

Can anyone ID this plug? I just had the intake off and I'm having trouble figuring out where it goes, if anywhere. It comes from under the upper intake with the injector harness and feeds out behind the alternator. Thanks!! ----Jer

I'm OK with pulling the intake to fix the gasket. I'll double check the oil in a bit but I don't believe the HG was compromised. Should I do a compression test to affirm this? ----Jer

I can absolutely do that but is that going to address that tiny leak by the intake gasket? It only needed about 1 quart of coolant to fill it back up. ----Jer

This is with the AC both on and off. Cooling fan is kicking into high and running just fine. Radiator is newish (2 years old) and fins look great. No big winch or anything in the front blocking air flow. ----Jer
