Can't figure it out. Can definitely hear and see a slight disengage when I bolt to flywheel. First time it happened I proceeded with install, started up and heard grinding. Removed all again, and inspected and it had broken the inner trans pump gear. Replaced the complete pump and put it all...

Going through the same thing here. Measured the distance from the torque converter bolt blocks to the transmission housing and it's 0.75 inches. Should be less than 0.50 inches. Looking at shim kits now.
