I went with an Auxbeam 8 gang switch system. Made and bent up a mounting plate out of an old road sign. installed the switch pod into a rough country A pillar that had a switch block area.

You may find, just depending on how difficult the old ones want to be and the type of ball joint press you get you may have to pull the shafts to access the inner C enough to do them though. I've done it both ways and it definitely is easier with the shafts out.

No, it does not have to be removed. I highly recommend getting a good ball joint press tool to remove and install them. I would further recommend installing ball joint deletes if you plan to off road for any amount of time.

Had a similar issue on a 08. Check the grounds for your knock sensor and O2 sensors. They attach at the bottom of the passenger side of the engine block.
