Regrets on the wheels and tires I bought?

The reason I posed the question is this: my 2.5" lift has an actual lift of 2" after I've added after-market steel bumpers each weighing it at 80lbs+. Shocks are less than 6 years old and were purchased to match the lift height. Theoretically, if I were to replace my springs with a set of Rubi...

Regrets on the wheels and tires I bought?

So, let me ask this hypothetical question..... could I find a set of Rubi springs and install them without having to make any other changes to my suspension? I have a 2.5" lift and when I put new shocks on I ordered the proper length for the lift.

Regrets on the wheels and tires I bought?

You don't need new springs. The Rubi comes off the assembly line with better springs than the Sport and Sahara. I don't have a Rubi, but I've been told the springs are a touch taller and stronger. Just remember that any lift more than 2.5" will require new adjustable control arms, drive shaft...

Regrets on the wheels and tires I bought?

I like those wheels. Unique- that's not a common look- which is very cool. On a side note, your JKU looks like the stance has a rake back to front. Should you decide to add aftermarket bumpers, you're going to add 80--100 lbs of steel to either or both ends and it may squat a little more. You...

Regrets on the wheels and tires I bought?

I'd like to see a side shot of the whole Jeep with those wheels, but from what I see, I'm kinda diggin' that look. I works with the black trim and fenders you have and it is a utilitarian/military look. And I'm running 12.5" KO2s on mine (no spacers) and couldn't be happier.

Very upset that car wash damaged my Jeep

In 1975 after I'd returned from my first deployment to SE Asia, I was at a friend's house tinkering with my 1974 Chevy step-side short bed. I kept it in storage for about 5 months and we were changing fluids, drinking beer, cleaning plugs, drinking beer, checking tire pressure, drinking beer...

Very upset that car wash damaged my Jeep

Most of those places are franchised, so you may be in for a fight with the franchisee. With respect to the oil filter thing.... some 40 years ago I had my car in the shop for a couple things and I asked them to change the oil while they were under the hood. When they pulled the old filter, the...

    Hood / windshield stone protection

I've used the Weathertech bug shields on 3 Tahoes, an Expedition and 2 Jeeps over the past 30 years. They do help with the bugs, but nothing is going to redirect the rocks and stones that do the most damage. I've removed the one on my Jeep about a year ago as it was getting pretty old and it...

Thermostat fails every 2 year for the last 6

Madness: Doing the exact same thing over and over and expecting a change IS madness. Kidding.... we all need more levity in our lives. Anyway, I replaced mine about 5 years ago now, I think. Here's what I replaced it with: Available from partsgeek.com.

    Easy 2” Lift With Shocks

2.5" is your lift limit without having to change out your drive shafts and replace the control arms with adjustables. Anything more than 2.5" just changes the geometry of the drive train too much, the control arms no longer reach, etc. Put on this Teraflex lift kit, get yourself a new set of...

Had anyone converted manual windows to power windows?

There's another consideration as well. Jeep went to great lengths to keep everything at dashboard height in case you felt the need to drive through a foot or 2 of water. Why are the rear window power buttons down at the rear of the console? The entire back side of the console with the AC...

Can I put the factory sub from a 2012 JK into my 2017 JK?

I've thought about the rear sub delete kit (passenger side wall in the cargo bay) since I replaced all the speakers. The Rockford Fosgate I installed have a very nice bass and I'm not even sure I hear the sub anymore.

Had anyone converted manual windows to power windows?

I don't use my back seat, it stays folded down 99% of the time for my dogs, but those switches on the back side of the console for the rear windows are just nasty to keep clean where they are. I'd almost wish they were on the door panel.

    Best scan tool and software

I have a 2014 Sahara as well. I think I can answer for the majority of members here and just about all of us have the JScan app. You'll pay a small license fee for your VIN, but there's not a lot you can't do with this app. Get the app, purchase an OBD dongle, connect them via bluetooth and...

    Gear Ratio for 35" tires

I have 35s and run 3.73s with no issues. Of course, I'm not a rock-crawler, but even on some entertaining trails it serves its purpose just fine. I do have a Pedal Commander and the tires are BFG KO2 ATs. Running 70 or a little more on the interstate is a breeze at 2100RPM and my mileage is...

    Got rear ended

The odds are much greater the spare could fall off under normal road vibration conditions than you getting a flat and needing that spare. If you really feel like you need the spare, take it off the mount and toss it in the back for the time being.
