Low temps and boiling sounds from 3.8

The easiest way to know if there is air in the system is a fluctuating temp gauge. Regardless if you're moving or not, with no rhyme or reason, the temp gauge is all over the map from where it should be to the higher range. 1. Raise the front end and remove the rad cap. As has been said...

    Engine code and oil leak

The P0128 code is an easy diagnosis and I have personal experience with this code. Cold start your Jeep and wrap your hand around the upper radiator hose. If the t-stat is operating properly, you should not feel any fluid flow thru that hose until the engine temp is around 180 or a little...

LED low beam headlights too bright for oncoming traffic

When I installed my new front bumper, I noticed the angle of the fogs almost immediately. Aftermarket bumpers and the fogs do not have any adjustment built in, so I went about the trouble of using washers on the top mounting brackets to get the angle of the fogs just below parallel.

    Not another overheating issue

What I'm saying is why is this the first thing shops want to replace? There are tests and processes to determine if a radiator is shot, as you describe, without blindly replacing them the minute there is a cooling issue. Start with the simplest solution/trouble shoot and work toward the most...

    Not another overheating issue

The temp gauge "bouncing around" is typically a pretty good sign there is air in the system. Needs to be burped. I know and read about a lot of Jeep owners replacing water pumps, radiators, fan units, etc., but in my experience those things rarely go bad and I hate to see people spending their...

    Rancho RS5000x Dilemma

Depending on where you bought these, the description and lift measurements for Rancho shocks can be confusing. I have the same shocks on my JKU with a 2.5" lift and I must have checked the correct lift size a dozen times before ordering them.

    Full sized cargo liner

Been looking at this since I got my 2014... almost 10 years. I've even had discussions with WeatherTech about making some sort of a "hinged" version, if you will, of their classic cargo liner that would allow the portion that covers the rear seat to fold back over the cargo area if the rear...

B1B02 is this due to clockspring?

There is also an airbag recall on Jeeps. Could this possibly be related to that?

Slop between bell housing and starter

Not sure about Jeeps, but I've replaced a few starters in my day on older big and small block GM muscle (Chevelles, Camaros) and the starter was threaded as well as the engine. What I'm reading is the Jeep starter is not threaded?

    203 degree thermostat?

Dodge trucks, in general, are mechanic-rated as one of the most difficult vehicles, import or export, to work on.

    203 degree thermostat?

My 2014 had a P0128 code (engine coolant not at thermostat regulating temps) a few years back and discovered it was stuck open. I wouldn't assume that in your case as it could also be a faulty sensor or an ECM fault. So, your engine heats up to somewhere around 195-205 and the t-stat springs...

Where I can find metal retainer clips that hold the lightbulb in the dome light of the Jeep?

Yes, sir. Thanks. When I saw those cut wires, was thinking the connector/plug was likely on the other end somewhere.

Where I can find metal retainer clips that hold the lightbulb in the dome light of the Jeep?

I'm not sure because virtually every picture I've looked at on ebay or elsewhere only shows cut wire ends. If there is a plug, I wonder where it is? Wouldn't be surprised if the light wiring wasn't jumped off the harness that runs to the rear lights. In other words, down along the passenger side...

Overheating, no heat (new parts thrown at it)

Is it going straight to an overheat situation or is the temp gauge kind of bouncing all over the place? If the temp gauge needle is moving around a bit, that would suggest air in the system. Cold start the vehicle and wrap your hand around the upper radiator hose. If you don't feel the coolant...

    No rear lights?

How do I fix this leak?

You can get all your axle seals replaced for around $400-600 (USD). With winter temp extremes headed your way, that leak will likely get worse as the seals shrink in the cold weather.
