    J8 booster talk

I've read the same as the ABS system needs to be inactive to bleed the individual calipers, and the system needs to be reactivated to purge the air: 1. Preparation: Ensure the vehicle is level and the brake fluid reservoir is topped off. Gather necessary tools, including a pressure bleeder, a...

My seemingly never ending death wobble journey

When you pot-holed it, was it on the driver's side? I'd start with the hub and work your way toward the middle. Bent or cracked driver's side steering knuckle, driver's side shaft assembly, front axle u-joint. Could be something a simple as bent wheel studs.

    Coming up on 200k

This is my plan for 150k ` My rebuild cost me almost $7k a little over a year ago and, knock on wood, everything is running very smooth. I'll not be going down that road again as those costs would exceed whatever I could get out of it. I'll be patient and find a 2-3 year-old, low mileage 392...

My seemingly never ending death wobble journey

Few years ago I began experiencing some wobble (not DW and very inconsistent), accompanied by some pull to the left. It began shortly after I hit an unseen, unpainted asphalt speed bump at about 25mph. It's a 2014 JKU with a 2.5" lift and 35s. Got it on a rack after finding it nearly impossible...

    Shock Recommendation for stock height

I have Rancho 5000 on mine and in my world they're just fine. I have a 2.5" lift w/35s and it's a DD, does some beach riding on the Outer Banks and some overlanding; no serious rock crawling. If I were to decide more serious off-road adventures are in my future, I'd certainly upgrade and spend...

    Broken JK

When you pulled the old motor, how much of the original wiring harness did you keep? Sensors? Is it possible new just needs to learn old? Trying to keep it simple.

    J8 booster talk

The bore you need for heavy duty brakes is 1 1/16" whereas most of the masters are a 1". I did find this on partsgeek: https://www.partsgeek.com/hlpxwgp-jeep-wrangler-brake-master-cylinder.html

    J8 booster talk

This is the same part number I've found on a couple other forums. But there is a noticeable design difference in the 2009-2014 master cylinder and the one you need for your 2007. Check this link and look at the "other brands" section down the page. The W0133-2775579 specifically says it's not...

    J8 booster talk

I found all this reading: Matching Components: The Mopar J8 booster and master cylinder are designed as a pair, with specific dimensions and features that ensure proper functionality when used together. Not Compatible with OEM: Attempting to use the J8 booster with an OEM master cylinder...

What did you do to your JK today?

Parked my JKU today for what could be a couple months. I'll ask the wife to run her around the block once a week or so. Blew out my knee Wednesday, met with an ortho guy Thursday and have an MRI tomorrow, but it looks to be my MCL and meniscus. Looks like I'll be off my left foot for a little...

    Tire Advice

Which JK model do you have? Reason I ask is the Rubicon has a different spring set up than the Sport or Sahara models, allowing for a little more clearance. Barring that information, a stock set up will let you go as much as a 33 without issues. Just remember to calibrate your speedometer to...

    Cold weather issues with radio

Try playing David Johansen's "Hot, Hot, Hot" and see if that helps. jk... I don't know that I've ever heard of this before but I can almost guarantee it's not a cold solder or bare wire. So, based on the fact the head unit has been replaced 3 times, that it's definitely not the problem. If you...

    Question on Next Improvement

I have a '14 Sahara with a 3.73 and run 35s with no problems at all. My off-roading is minimal, mostly fire and logging roads, and if it were more I'd put in new gears.

    Question on Next Improvement

Standard Rubi rear end for a 2015 JKU is a 4.10. If you go with 35" tires, a re-gear to a 4.56 may be a preference. Some will suggest a 4.88, but I think that would depend on your off-road time.

    Suspension Recommendations

Changing the shocks may alter your lift by a fraction of an inch, but what is your priority? Do you want to drop the JKU so it doesn't look so goofy that high off the 33s, or do you want to achieve a smoother ride? Just my opinion, but going back to a stock suspension height with a new set of...

    Suspension Recommendations

You can always go back to the factory suspension, but I'm sure you don't have the parts when the original swap was done. The Rubicon comes with a different spring than the Sport or Sahara models, I've been told, which gives it a little more lift than either of those. Park a Rubicon next to a...
