    Another wheel and tire thread

Discounttiredirect.com also lists weights for each tire. Normally, you'll find weight increase as load rating increases so a C load tire in general is lighter than an E load tire. That said, there are exceptions and I was surprised when I was looking recently. Toyos, Nittos, and Falkens I...

    New To The Jeep Life

Welcome. Looks good. The great thing about Jeeps is there are thousands of modifications you can make and keep it as mild or as wild as you like. We have 2 Jeeps at my house. My wife told me how she wanted to modify the JKU and I did it. Happy wife, happy life? I wouldnt have made the...

Thoughts on wheel and tire combo?

    Rancho 2” or Teraflex 1.5”?

I have no issues with rancho shocks or teraflex leveling kit. I have a buddy that runs the teraflex leveling spacers and endlinks on his JKU with good results. I run rancho rs9000 shocks and teraflex 1" front spacer on my JKU. I have been pleased with the rs9000's positive impact on the ride...

Thoughts on wheel and tire combo?

I dont think there's a best because it's all personal preference. 17x8.5 or 17x9 work well. Choose something lighter weight as you will feel the difference trying to turn heavy wheels and tires. I went from an 83 pound tire on stock wheels (not sure of weight) to a 73 pound tire on 21 pound...

What can I do do with my Jeep on an extreme budget?

I agree. Save your money and drive it. Over time, you'll identify things you want to change or repair, and can either fund from what you've saved or continue saving until you can. I know it's difficult when you're anxious to customize your vehicle!!

    Best 2.5” lift?

Mopar Lift part # 77070095AD or 77070095AE for 2012+ 2dr I'm running 35x12.50x17 in my profile pic. Here's another with 315/70r17 which are metric 35's but Synergy springs

    Do NOT order from 4wd.com

I had a similar experience with a purchase from 4WP. Placed an order, money withdrawn from my account, order showing pending, and after trying unsuccessfully to reach them, a big box showed up on my front porch. 🤷‍♂️

JK rides rough after installing 2" spacers

We really like the rs9000's on our JKU. Out of 9 settings, we use 3 front and rear with 1" front spacer and 3/8" rear spacer. Some people have different preferences in ride quality and may prefer stiffer shock valving. Also, you'd typically run a stiffer shock with higher spring rates.

JK rides rough after installing 2" spacers

It's generally thought that the stock shocks can handle 2" spacers but it may be close. You should also consider loosening all 8 control arm bolts, cycle the suspension, and then retorque them at ride height. Folks suggest doing this while the Jeep is on the ground but I found this wasn't...

Problems with JK darting severely on the road

How much is it lifted? Does it have geometry correction brackets for the front control arms, or replacement front control arms t correct caster? I lifted my wife's JKU without geo brackets and it was terrible, dead spot on center and then darted left or right depending on the road.

Let's see pictures of your inner fenders

I've considered buying them but haven't purchased a set yet. It seems that the need for rears is debatable. Many rears including the ACE and others don't fully cover the rear wheel well so there's still some paint exposure. If I were to go with the ACE, I'd do front only. You can see in the...

    JKS or Teraflex Lift kit?

I don't have experience with the JKS but have driven the Teraflex with the 9550 VSS shocks and it was on the stiff side. Teraflex is also known for having a shorter free length, if that's of any concern to you. For some folks it is. But from what I've read, there seem to be many happy users...

Let's see pictures of your inner fenders

I really like the design of the Ace Engineering & Fab inners, but I keep going back and forth between them and a more OEM looking plastic inner like Paramount or Rugged Ridge. Not sure if I should be concerned with the holes. For several months there's been so much rain that it's always wet...

    New JK, need recommendations

My lift gave me 4"f/3"r. Installing an ARB bumper up front only dropped that my 1/8". I still have a heavy rear bumper to install so we'll see how much the rear drops. I have removed the spare for street use as I only travel a few miles from my house unless I'm hitting the trails. My issue...

    New JK, need recommendations

What size tire should I use for J-Scan?

Are the sizes you quote measured or manufacturers specs? I've found it makes sense to measure from the ground to the center of a tire installed and under load on my JK, then double it, and use that number. It will be slightly less than measuring from the ground to the top of the tire but I've...
