    Noise Isolation Help

My brother went through the same thing. He had a noise and spent a lot of time and money chasing it down. He replaced the U-joints in both front axle shafts, both front wheel hubs and went through his entire steering system. Still had a noise, a clunk. Turned out to be the Rzeppa joint in his...

The camshaft is broken and all it does is tick?? With a broken camshaft, you’re lucky it runs at all. Is there a miscommunication here?

    Steering stabilizer information question

I wouldn’t waste money replacing the steering stabilizer. The only thing it does is dampen feedback from the road. Remove it when it goes bad and use the money for the new stabilizer on a tank of gas.

    Starting problem Ignition?

Remove both terminals from the battery. Negative terminal first for safety. Inspect for corrosion and clean as needed. Next, reconnect the terminals, positive first. Make sure you push the terminals down on the posts until the bottom out before tightening. I had this same starting problem on...

Replacing Half Of A Factory Driveshaft

Got the driveshaft installed. Pro Tip- The bolts mounting the driveshaft to the front axle are installed with blue LOCTITE. Heating the bolts with a propane torch or heat gun will make removing them much easier.

Also, check the exhaust. The symptoms you mention can indicate a bad catalytic convertor.

Replacing Half Of A Factory Driveshaft

He's very smart. I'm a satisfied customer and would do business with him again. Buying from him has been one of the best car buying experiences I've had. A factory driveshaft was never ordered. He's cutting me a check which will be used to pay the credit card I bought the Adams driveshaft with...

Replacing Half Of A Factory Driveshaft

My bad- I meant to say I was told the U joints couldn't be replaced. Update- I called the dealer and expressed my concerns. I am pleased to say, the dealer resolved the situation more than to my satisfaction. Thanks to all!

Replacing Half Of A Factory Driveshaft

Question Of The Day- Can Half The Driveshaft Be Replaced- Safely? I recently bought a 2012 Wrangler Rubicon from a dealer. During the pre purchase inspection, I found the U joints of the front driveshaft were toast. The dealer promised they'd take care of it. It's just a simple U joint...

    2015 JK Engine noise

I had an 87 Cherokee that developed a rod knock after I installed a set of Borla headers. Turns out the "rod knock" was an exhaust leak that developed when one or two of the header bolts loosened. Noise went away after re-torquing the header bolts. If the noise is a manifold leak, a new exhaust...

    Noise Isolation Help

You removed the front drive shaft and the noise went away- that's a clue. My brother had a noise in his '09 that was driving him crazy. Turned out to be the Rzeppa joint (fancy word for Constant Velocity) end of the drive shaft, the end connecting to the T case. He fixed it by replacing the...
