    Newbie wanting overland build advice

S Thank you. I like how you supported the portion over the rear seats. I assume that portion is completely removed when not in use? It doesn’t look like you have it folding over onto the rear cargo area.

Pictures of the platform / sleeping area? Been thinking about options for trips we might want to head up the night before hitting the trail.

Horn honks 3 times when ignition moved to run

I don’t know why, but I am leery of doing this. My son’s Jeep has two lights on the dash, if I recall correctly one is the double snake lines and the abs light. If I recall correctly the only way to fix it is to take it to the dealer, or try resetting the ECM by touching the two cables...

    Might buy my first JK

I hate them too!! Can take forever to track down and I’m not very good at it. Knock on wood, not a single electrical issue so far. I am ready for the PCM to go some day though.

    Might buy my first JK

Do you know if the 100,000 maintenance was done? At that mileage the plugs should have been changed, and I recommend the ignition coils to be replaced (could be the cause of the misfire codes) also the coolant system should have been flushed. Do you know if the oil cooler has been replaced...

What did you do to your JK today?

Yikes! How do you keep the shavings from dropping into the cylinder? Or is it dismantled?

What did you do to your JK today?

Not sure I would either. Her ceiling is that old “popcorn / spray acoustic” stuff so sort of hard to roll paint it.

It worked great when I bought it. I said “this thing is amazing!” But paint sprayers seem to be one of those tools you put away and two years later go to use it and it doesn’t work. Of course my previous ones were cheap Wagners, maybe that’s why. That said it worked amazingly again! I think...

What did you do to your JK today?

Got the boy’s new steering gear box and tie rod assembly in today. The right tools sure help the job go smoother. Still have the new radiator to install but he had to go to work. I’m off to spray paint my sister’s ceilings now. I’m getting too old for these long days 😂. Hoping the Graco...

It’s certainly doable by yourself. I agree though need a long bar of some sort to get the needed leverage.

What did you do to your JK today?

I can’t say too much as we have a JT. It pulls the camper nicely. Also pulled our son’s JKU on a flatbed Tuesday from Lake Tahoe. It did pretty good but I’m sure it was at the limit for its capacity.

What did you do to your JK today?

That is a good time to go. One time I was putting a suspension lift on the JKU and couldn’t get the right socket to use my 1/2” torque wrench on the driveshaft bolts. It was 8:30 at night headed to HF to get 3/8” only to realize they were closed, then had to go to Lowes’s and picked a...

What did you do to your JK today?

Might always be time, but not the cash 😂. Plus I hate going to the store when I am in the middle of working on something.

What did you do to your JK today?

Dad was up at 7:30, boy didn’t get up till 9:00 then had to cook himself breakfast. Then had to get cleaned up to go to work by 2:00. But managed to get the radiator out, drop the pitman arm and disconnect the power steering lines to the gear box today, not too bad for 3 hours. All together...
