He had the mechanic change out to factory cats, cost him a lot more but no codes afterwards. The mechanic did warn him that aftermarket cats could cause that very issue.

My thoughts exactly. I had that happen to a friend of mine on Ram truck. Aftermarket Cats were throwing the CEL all the time.

Update: I stopped by the dealer to get my bag of tools out of my Jeep. Transmission was out, rear main seal not leaking, looks to be upper oil pan gasket. They are replacing both as a matter of precaution. Still wont get it back til Wednesday.
