Chris, feel free to move it in another section if it makes more sense! I just finished my offroading/camping checklist, and i thought it might be useful to some of you. I literally just printed it and laminated it, leave it in the car and right before taking off i go through it to be sure i...

Has anyone found something good to keep your plastic fenders black?

i literally did that 2 weeks ago i washed them thoroughly, light sanded them and then use Rust-Oleum 327916-6 PK American Accents Spray Paint, Satin Canyon Black. and it looks really good, i might sand it again and do another coat, but from 2ft it looks nice already!

Where to mount pod lights and why?

it really does depend on the use you'll have with those. I have 2 KC's spots mounted on my pillars because i do a lot of offroading at night and they light up nicely everything from 3ft to 25feet height at about 30feet. so i can see trees/rocks... I changed the bulbs to LEDs for the front fog...

    Are 33s even worth it?

I also offroad quite a lot, stock lift with 33s and totally happy... I have full skid plates under so I feel more confident, and will probably 2.5"aev lift it at one point. But this rig is so capable off the bat it's amazing. Note that mine are 255/75r17, so .9" less wide that the 33x10.5 but...

    Are 33s even worth it?

If you go bigger than 33s you might want to check into regearing as well. Plus cost is a factor, 35 are more expensive, also longer to inflate/deflate on trails. 33s are the biggest you can fit without changing anything, that's why they're popular. My 2cts

Best way to carry a surfboard on a JK two door?

I used that inflatable roofrack to carry my paddle board couple of times but never at highway speed. Also have you tried to put down the top, and place the board so the bottom is in the trunk and top over the passager rollbar? You could ratchet it to the bar But honestly, if you're serious of...

Do I need a heavy duty spare tire carrier with 35s?

For a 35" i would recommend it. You already would need to have HD hinges to be safe and they run at $150 already... check out this one (Smittybilt 2843 Pivot HD Tire Carrier Jeep Wrangler) , it's under $400 and pretty simple to install yourself.

Front Runner Drop Down Tailgate Table

Do it! Beside enjoying it as a table when overlanding, I also going to use it to put tools when working on the rig! Just put a rubber mat on it and I'll be good to go!

Front Runner Drop Down Tailgate Table

I just installed it this morning, beside the instructions being wrong on where to drill, I'm really happy with it. Hold up to 80lbs, will be good for little breaks with beers and PB&Js while offroading!

There is something that s bothering me, I just reread your post and you're stating the battery drained 6 months ago because your cb's fuse 'popped. I don't see how that would drain the battery, if the fuse popped, it broke the circuit, as it's supposed to, because something overloaded its...
