Anyone used JeepCare in Huntington Beach, CA?

We took the "extra" vehicle for service today and down the street I saw a previously unknown Jeep service center called JeepCare in Huntington Beach. I don't need any service or upgrades at the moment, but I wanted to gather any reviews members here may have for future work.

    Traction Control

Replace the battery clamps. ;) I know that sounds snarky, but a poor ground at the battery will cause a ton of CEL codes and misbehaviors that will make you look at other systems as the root cause. The factory clamps are 100% SHIT.

2013 Wrangler Unlimited Sahara Issues: No Start, Clicking Relay

TECHNICALLY... electrons travel FROM Negative TO Positive. My Charger had a plastic mechanism in the shifter assembly that was apparently prone to breaking. It was a pink plastic gizmo that could be seen when the cover was removed. This device (or one similar) was breaking in multiple models...

Seeking thoughts on bike and ski rack combo for soft top

For our TJ, we have an older Yakima, 2-bike rack that mounts to a plate/post that goes through the spare tire. I had to have the post extended when we increased tire size, but it has been a great rack. We also have a 4- bike rack that mounts to the hitch if we take the JK, or need to haul more...

2013 Wrangler Unlimited Sahara Issues: No Start, Clicking Relay

My biggest complaint about the factory electrical system (after the shitty battery clamps, that is!) is that all of the sensors rely on the same 5V source signal from the ECU/TIPM. This means that a wiring issue can put you on the hunt for the root cause in places where it isn't. Take a look at...

    No rear lights?

    No rear lights?

That's where I'm at. While the connector is a match for the 4-pin on the Jeep, there is no telling how the trailer wiring was done, so they may have used an alternate pin layout on the trailer. Do the lights work again if the trailer is disconnected? I would use an external power source to...

    No rear lights?

Do you still have and does the center brake light work? On mine, I lost the rear corner lights, but the center still worked. This happened after I jacked around with settings in JSCAN for DTRL and LED fog lamp settings. I could not find a fuse for the brake lights then, and when I reset the...

Wipers Front Acting Up: 2011 JKU

I also have a to-do list that includes fixing the intermittent wiper function on our 2015. I took out the motor assembly once and didn't see any glaring issues. Re-installing it didn't solve the issue - DUH. A new motor is probably the right answer.

    275/265 70R18 under $200?

I also found a great deal on 285 BFG KO2 take offs... $500 for all 5 w/ less than 20K miles on them. Sold the originals from our 2015 for $300. Fronts rubbed against the sway bar as pictured, but I solved that by placing a thick washer under the stop bolt on each side. I still need to address...

    Help de-pin this connector

Yes, per my best guess that is correct. The ‘hook’ is only about 25-30% as wide as the contact itself & the sidewall profile of the hole prevents the horizontally-aligned blade from depressing the ‘hook’.

    Help de-pin this connector

I think pushing a pin extractor or micro-screwdriver into this location will disengage the 'hook' on the pin. Obviously, you'll have to do it for both wires. If you opt to use a screwdriver, I would orient the blade to be vertical, so that the width of the blade does not get hung up on the...

2017 Jeep Wrangler Sahara cylinder 5 misfire

The posts about my repair journey are somewhere in the "what did you do to your JK today" thread. There are just so many that it was difficult to track down the specific one that I was looking for. I Bookmark posts that i find relevant or interesting to me, but I don't bookmark my own.

Turning off the center console USB port

I’ll say it like this. If he leaves his phone charging from the center console, IT ALONE WILL NOT CAUSE THE VEHICLE BATTERY TO DRAIN BELOW THE REQUIRED STARTING VOLTAGE/AMPS. There is another cause in play, such as parasitic drain or an underperforming battery itself.

    Would go good with ducks

For those who work with their hands, such as electricians & mechanics, the idea of silicone rings are a blessing, not unlike the buckle-less belts. I can only imagine the mount of crud that will get stuck in the tread of this design though. This isn't a new concept, it's just a new market...

Turning off the center console USB port

The above is certainly true 'on paper'. I can't imagine anyone leaving their phone (or other USB powered device) plugged into the car battery for more than a few days max. It would take MANY, MANY charge cycles of a phone to drain a good car battery, which means it would have to remain connected...

2017 Jeep Wrangler Sahara cylinder 5 misfire

First, I'll start by saying that while my efforts (and results) might suggest that I possess unique or expert knowledge on the subject, I'll admit to just being mechanically inclined and determined not to spend needlessly for a professional tech to do the same things that I can accomplish myself...
