I have loved Jeeps since I was a kid and owned Jeeps since 1984. My first was a '47 CJ2a when I was 13 - bought with grass cutting money for $300. My second was an M151 Mutt in the National Guard in 1989 until 1992 (when they got rid of it for a HMMWV). In 1994 I bought a 1993 YJ - traded it in 1997 for a pickup. I bought a 1954 M38a1 in 1997, finished restoring it in 2012 after I got my family started. I bought a 2nd M38a1 (1964 USMC version) in 2016 - finished restoring it and an M100 trailer for it in time for the Denton NC military vehicle show in April 2017. I've owned numerous military parts Jeeps during my 24yr hobby - I actually still have a 1954 M170 parts vehicle.
I finally decided to get out of the 24yr military Jeep hobby a couple of months ago. I sold both M38a1s and the trailer to a guy I met at the Denton show (and have been friends with ever since) in 2012.
That leads my to a couple of weeks ago (March 2021) when I decided to use some of that money from selling out my hobby to put a down payment on my 2017 Wrangler JKU Big Bear. Finally back in a daily driver Jeep after 24yrs!
