New to the Jeep world and need advice

Welcome from Bama! CAI you don't need. Exhaust you can replace the stock muffler with a more throaty one. Shocks, I'm really liking the SkyJacker Black Max shocks on my 08 JK.

    3.8 Noise

When I first got my 08 JKU a couple of months ago, it had a slight noise. I couldn't pinpoint it due to poor hearing. It started getting louder and i knew it was a pulley type noise. So I removed the serpentine belt and checked all the pulleys and found the water pump had a slight noise, not...

Rock Jock springs on my 06 TJR

Sorry I wasn't clear the shocks were unhooked and just hanging. Mo way I could have gotten the front or rear installed without unbolting them

Rock Jock springs on my 06 TJR

Shocks were just sitting where they belong. Currie springs are supposed to have the most free travel. I had to compress them to install both fronts, even at full droop. The rears i popped them in with a little compression.

Rock Jock springs on my 06 TJR

Those 2 pics were at full droop with shocks and swaybar unhooked. Yes i centered them and double checked once everything was hooked back up.

Rock Jock springs on my 06 TJR

Ordered the 4" lift RockJock springs a week or so ago. They hit the door step last Friday. RockJock and the Currie's are great to work with. Called and spoke with Brandon Currie and told him what I wanted and he recommended a spring kit. Started the install yesterday, got one front spring...

In the market for a JK; how to know if it's lifted?

My 3.8 has 218500 on it. It has head gaskets and oil leak fixed and I just put a water pump on it.

What did you do to your JK today?

Well got home from work, ate supper, started on the water pump at 6:30..... by 7:30 was finished, took BBJK for a 20 minute test drive. Way quieter and no leaks!!!!!!!!!

What did you do to your JK today?

Heard a mysterious noise coming from the front of the 3.8 today. Got home from taking Dad to church and took a gander at it. Took the serpentine belt off, spun everything that would spin, the water pump pulley was making a noise. Fired it up with the belt off, no noise, put the belt back...

In the market for a JK; how to know if it's lifted?

According to my build sheet, I believe mine is 4.10 and yes its still underpowered. I run my 06 TJR with the OD off and even wheel it on 33's with the stock gears. The JKU needs at least 4.88 or 5.13 with 33's to make it tolerable in my opinion. The JK guys here are more knowledgeable on...

In the market for a JK; how to know if it's lifted?

I picked mine up locally from a friend. I gave $5500.00 for it knowing it had some small issues and 214xxx miles. Bottom photo is with my TJR, top is next to a JL.
