Pros and cons of going with a newer JLU diesels

I heard they stopped making them? I was considering a used diesel Gladiator but the more I researched it sounded like they were having issues so stuck with the 3.6 gas. So far been fine for us and towing out A-Frame camper. Only have had it about 7 months. It’s a 2021 with about 35K...

    Hate Dealers

My son needed a new (used) car a few months ago. I am in my late 50’s. I was appalled when we went. Two different dealerships each pulled the same garbage. Advertise a car for “X” then when they come out they have “required” add of paint protection, interior protection, some other thing...

In the market for a JK; how to know if it's lifted?

My son’s is a 2007 that he bought used. I think it’s around 65,000 miles and needed a water pump and catalytic converters. Other than that it’s been fine. Not sure how the PO’s treated it. It was pretty clean underneath in regards to dents, scratches etc. so I don’t think they did a lot of...

In the market for a JK; how to know if it's lifted?

I really don’t have an issue with the NSG370. I have an 06LJ and 2015JKU, both Rubicons and they seem about the same to me. Yes they can be a little “clunky” but overall seems fine to me. I learned stick on my dad’s little Dodge pickup and then drove around a manual 72 Datsun 510 for a few...

In the market for a JK; how to know if it's lifted?

It’s lifted. I would guess around 2.5-3”. The control arm is angled up too much. The control arms are almost horizontal on the stock suspension .

New drag link after AEV lift install?

I’ve installed three 2.5” lifts, two on 2015 JKU and one on 2017 JK. Never needed any additional parts. Everything needed was included in the kit. Have them installed between 2-4 years depending on the Jeep and haven’t had any issues.

2008 JK dash / headlight wiring harness

I’d try a wrecking yard. I had to replace one on my YJ several (my stupidity) years ago worked great. J&W here in Roseville CA has a great reputation and been around a long time. They only deal in Jeeps.

    Aftermarket fenders?

True, fortunately these are fairly easy to remove for access. One of the bolts by the door is a little difficult to remove. I think about 15 minutes at home I had it out when I replaced the power steering pump.

    Aftermarket fenders?

On the front we replaced the inner fender liner with metal ones. I wasn’t happy with how open the engine bay was without some sort of liner. The rear just left it exposed.

    Aftermarket fenders?

The wife has these, she has been happy with them. I’d have to look up the brand, got them though Extreme Terrain.

    Aftermarket fenders?

What!!! Never say never, you might need to rescue the cool looking LJR some day😂 I mean after all you did get stuck in that mud puddle.

    Replacement shifter for 6-speed

I don’t have any experience but I hear a lot of positives on the B&M shifter. I’ve thought about changing mine out some time, but the shifter hasn’t ever popped out.

What did you do to your JK today?

Thank you for the offer. We’ve got a spare soft top my daughter replaced so I can use that.
